Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News on Friday, arguing the cable news giant falsely claimed in an effort to boost faltering ratings that the voting company had rigged the 2020 election.
The lawsuit is part of a growing body of legal action filed by the voting company and other targets of misleading, false and bizarre claims spread by President Donald Trump and his allies in the aftermath of Trump’s election loss to Joe Biden. Those claims helped spur on rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 in a violent siege that left five people dead, including a police officer. The siege led to Trump’s historic second impeachment.
Dominion argues that Fox News, which amplified inaccurate assertions that Dominion altered votes, “sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process,” according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by The Associated Press.
“The truth matters. Lies have consequences,” the lawsuit said. “Fox sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process. If this case does not rise to the level of defamation by a broadcaster, then nothing does.”
Even before Dominion’s lawsuit on Friday, Fox News had already filed four motions to dismiss other legal actions against its coverage.
All these threats and lawsuits might have brought to the firing of a much beloved and important Fox News contributor like Lou Dobbs, it is very important, pivotal and vital to keep the right-wing positions and opinions on the mainstream media, that Fox wins the lawsuit, because I mean 1,9 billion dollars to those criminals of Dominion, a hybrid company with strange ties to both the military spy and cyber-security complex in Italy and with the servers in Germany and a lot of shadowy figures related to the Democratic Party, Obama, Pelosi, even the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein, if these people, who according to the Gateway Pundit really put on the market computer machines that could have the votes switched from a server from, we say, Trump to Biden, if these people can get 1,6 billion dollars defamation lawsuit by Fox it'll be devastating: mainstream media represented by Fox News and having in Fox News the most daring company, the company that dares to share right-wing popular opinions, mainstream media will cow away even more from sharing the truth. This is a lawsuit that Fox must win, for the sake of freedom of speech and decency.
I have to add that in my opinion and according to many the big theft was done by the mail-in ballots, mailed-in for four days after Election Day, all voted for Biden in a statistically impossible way and apropos of Fox I have admired and also a little laughed at the good Liz Peek who said "Biden won by a mere 44,000 votes in threes swing States" by a mere 44.000 votes? If he had needed more we would have had another three, four, even five days of dumping of packages of ballots all voted for Biden until the gap was closed, what happened in 2020 is scandalous: people must be arrested for voter fraud and Lou Dobbs must be back at work, it is necessary for the decency that Fox wins the lawsuit.
And btw we don't need all these Dominion machines to vote, people can vote with pencil and paper, it's just an X on a piece of paper near the name of the person you want to vote, stop making things difficult, the articles against Dominion and the mail-in ballots arrived after the last moment all for Biden have already obtained good results: many Countries included Holland and Ireland and many USA Counties have banned the computer voting system and now the entire Republican Party headed by Ronna McDaniel are up in arms against HR1 and S1, and even they say, the good honest people left among the Democratic Senators don't want to vote S1 Bill.
